1
OUR VALUES
Everything we do at The Daily Tea is rooted in these core principles:
Respect: Every member deserves dignity and kindness
Authenticity: Real struggles, real support, real connection
Privacy: Your stories and questions are safe here
Torah Values: Our community honors halacha and Jewish tradition
Growth: We're all here to learn and become our best selves
Positivity: We lift each other up, not tear each other down
2
BE RESPECTFUL & KIND
We're all navigating the beautiful complexity of frum life - marriage, motherhood, careers, and personal growth. Disagreement is natural, but disrespect is not.
This means:
Assume good intentions. Give others the benefit of the doubt.
Disagree graciously. You can share a different perspective without being dismissive or condescending.
No name-calling, insults, or personal attacks - ever.
Be mindful of tone. What sounds constructive in your head might read as harsh online.
If someone's comment bothers you, take a breath before responding. Better yet, use the "Contact Us" button at the bottom and report it to let the moderators help.
3
PROTECT PRIVACY & ANONYMITY
Many women use our Anonymous posting feature to share vulnerable experiences. We take this trust seriously.
Privacy rules:
Never share screenshots of anonymous posts outside the platform
Don't try to guess or speculate about who wrote an anonymous post
Keep others' stories confidential - what's shared in The Daily Tea stays in The Daily Tea.
Don't share identifying details about others without their explicit permission
If someone shares something sensitive in a forum, don't bring it up in other contexts or tag them unnecessarily
Remember: Just because someone shared something online doesn't mean they're comfortable with it being discussed elsewhere. Respect boundaries.
4
STAY ON TOPIC & BE HELPFUL
Each forum and discussion has a purpose. Help us keep conversations focused and valuable.
Guidelines:
Post in the relevant forum. Parenting questions go in Parenting forums, not Torah & Growth.
Stay on topic in discussions. If you want to explore a tangent, start a new thread.
Search before posting. Your question may have already been beautifully answered.
Share genuine advice and experience. We're here to help each other, not show off.
If you're advertising a service or product, use appropriate channels - don't spam forums.
5
NO LASHON HARA OR GOSSIP
As frum women, we hold ourselves to the laws of lashon hara. This is a space where we build each other up, not discuss others negatively.
This means:
Don't share negative information about specific people, businesses, or communities
Don't ask for or share gossip, even if framed as a "question"
If you need to discuss a difficult situation, keep it anonymous and focus on seeking advice, not venting about individuals
Don't use the platform to air grievances about specific schools, shuls, or organizations by name
Remember: Even true information can be lashon hara if it's shared inappropriately
If you need to discuss a sensitive interpersonal situation, use the Anonymous posting option and focus on your own experience and growth, not criticizing others.
6
KEEP IT APPROPRIATE
Our community maintains standards of tznius in all content shared.
Content standards:
No inappropriate images, language, or content
Photos should maintain tznius standards (no immodest dress, even in professional contexts)
Discussions about sensitive topics (marriage, health, etc.) should be tasteful and appropriate
If discussing mature topics, be thoughtful about who might read it
No graphic descriptions of violence, abuse, or medical procedures beyond what's necessary for context
Keep romantic/intimate discussions within appropriate bounds
7
ANONYMOUS POSTING GUIDELINES
Anonymous posting is a gift that allows vulnerable sharing. Use it responsibly.
When using Anonymous posting:
Use it for genuine vulnerability, not to avoid accountability for unkind words
Don't use anonymity to gossip, criticize, or attack others
Even when anonymous, follow all community guidelines
Be aware that repeated guideline violations, even anonymously, may result in restrictions
Don't try to guess who posted anonymously - respect their choice
Anonymous posts are still moderated. Anonymity isn't a shield for inappropriate behavior.
8
INTERACTING WITH EXPERTS
Our verified experts generously share their wisdom. Help us maintain a respectful Q&A environment.
When asking experts:
Be clear and concise in your questions
Provide relevant context, but protect privacy (yours and others')
Remember that expert answers are educational, not personal medical/legal/therapeutic advice
Don't argue with expert responses - you can ask follow-up questions respectfully
Thank experts for their time and wisdom
If you disagree with expert advice, you don't need to publicly debate - simply take what's helpful and leave the rest
10
COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY & PROMOTIONS
We support frum women entrepreneurs, but there's a time and place for business promotion.
Guidelines for business owners:
Don't spam forums with promotional content
If asked for recommendations in your field, you may mention your business once, briefly
Use your profile to showcase your business - that's what it's for
Consider becoming a sponsor for appropriate promotional opportunities
Repeated promotional posting in forums will be removed
The Shopping Guide section is the appropriate place for product recommendations
Remember: Building genuine relationships and being helpful first will serve your business better than constant promotion.
11
LOCAL CIRCLES ETIQUETTE
Local Circles connect neighbors for practical help and community building.
Be a good neighbor:
Only post in circles where you actually live or have strong connection
Honor commitments (carpools, borrowed items, meal trains)
Be timely - if you offer something, respond to requests promptly
Follow through - don't ghost on plans made through the community
Express gratitude - thank those who help you
Keep local drama offline - handle neighbor conflicts privately
12
WHAT TO DO IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE
We all occasionally say something we regret. It's how you handle it that matters.
If you realize you've violated guidelines:
You can edit or delete your post (within the allowed timeframe)
If you hurt someone, apologize sincerely
Learn from the experience
Don't double down or get defensive
Accept moderator feedback graciously
Move forward with greater awareness
We're all learning and growing together. Mistakes are opportunities for growth, not reasons for shame.
Enforcement
We're all responsible for keeping this community safe and welcoming.
If you see something concerning:
Use the "Report" button on any post or comment that violates guidelines
Don't engage publicly with rule-breaking content - report it and move on
Trust our moderation team to handle issues fairly and promptly
You can report anonymously - we take all reports seriously
What happens when guidelines are broken:
Our moderation approach is educational first, punitive only when necessary.
Depending on severity and frequency:
First time: Friendly reminder and education about the guideline
Repeated violations: Temporary posting restrictions
Serious violations: Content removal and possible account suspension
Severe violations: Permanent removal from the community
We want everyone to succeed here. If you receive a moderation notice, take it as an opportunity to learn and grow, not as a personal attack.
